Master Bedroom Register Caked with Pet Hair - Solms Ranch
Three golden retrievers, one 14-inch supply duct run, and a filter that hadn’t been changed in 14 months. The register vanes were bent downward from the weight of compacted hair. We removed the register, ran a reverse-blowing skipper ball through the 12-foot flex duct (a rubber ball that bounces through the duct, dislodging adhered material ahead of the vacuum), and replaced the damaged register with a new stamped-steel unit. Evaporator Coil Pan Mold - Copper Ridge
This wasn’t a duct issue alone. The evaporator coil pan - the shallow metal tray that catches condensation from your AC’s cold coil - had standing water and visible microbial growth that was sending spores through every supply register. We cleared the partially blocked condensate line with nitrogen pressure, cleaned the pan with non-acid foaming cleaner, and applied an EPA-registered antimicrobial treatment (Guardsman product line) to the coil and pan surfaces. The supply trunk - the large rectangular duct that distributes air to smaller branch lines - had completely separated from the plenum in the crawl space.
