No. The equipment is loud, so many homeowners prefer to step out or work in a distant room, but it is not required. Our crews need access to every register, the air handler, and any attic or crawl space access points. We ask that pets be secured and fragile items near registers be moved. We evaluate and can install whole-home air purifiers from Honeywell and Aprilaire when the duct system and air handler are compatible. These are UV or media-based units mounted at the air handler, not the register plug-ins sold online. We do not sell them as an automatic add-on. If your ducts are heavily contaminated, we clean first, then assess whether a purifier would provide ongoing benefit. The recommendation is based on what we found, not a sales script. We inspect duct material before beginning any work. Extensive mold or mold resulting from ongoing moisture problems may require remediation by a licensed mold contractor before duct cleaning is effective. We will photograph what we find and explain whether duct cleaning alone will solve it or if additional steps are needed. We do not treat undiagnosed moisture problems with cleaning alone.

Every duct cleaning job carries a written warranty against defects in workmanship, documented on your service summary. If a run is found to be inadequately cleaned within the warranty period, we return and correct it at no charge. Haven Standard Clause 1 requires "Have it in writing - flat price, written scope, written warranty, before anyone starts." The warranty terms are specific to the scope performed and are provided in writing before work begins. We do not make verbal promises we cannot document.

We review the before-and-after photos with you on site. If you believe a run was missed or inadequately cleaned, we re-inspect it immediately with a camera. If we missed something, we correct it. Haven Standard Clause 4 - "Evidence on every job" - means the documentation exists to settle any question of what was done. Properly performed duct cleaning does not void HVAC manufacturer warranties. Damage caused by improper methods - aggressive brushing of flex duct, for example, or disconnection of components - could create issues. We document our methods and carry insurance for the rare case of accidental damage. If your system is under warranty, we note the manufacturer and model during our pre-work inspection and adjust our methods if specific requirements apply.
