I didn’t know what I was doing. I borrowed a duct camera from a friend in Seguin, fashioned a brush from materials I won’t admit to now, and spent six hours working that line clean. My arms ached for days. The smell when that first real airflow hit, that particular clean-dust smell of a system breathing again, I can still recall it precisely. The tenant brought me a glass of tea and said her daughter had stopped coughing at night. That was the moment.
